Fortinet Canada is seeking talented C developers to advance the FortiGate firewall with a robust TLS stack and UTM capabilities, including Anti-Virus, Web Filter, Data Leak Prevention, and Anti-Spam. You will join a dedicated team focused on delivering secure, high-performance networking software.

You will write clean, scalable code, stay current with protocol developments, and contribute to product improvements based on real-world usage.

Qualificações

• 3+ years of experience in C/C++/Golang/Rust development.
• Experience developing software in Linux or UNIX-like environments.
• Knowledge of TLS, TCP/IP, POSIX APIs, and socket programming.
• Familiarity with source control systems (Git or others).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• Stay up to date on new developments in application-layer protocols and software practices, suggesting improvements within the team.
• Promote and uphold best coding and design practices.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain software that powers our TLS stack and UTM feature set
• Stay up to date on new developments in application-layer protocols and software practices, suggesting improvements within the team

Requirements:

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Experience developing software in Linux or UNIX-like environments
• Knowledge of TLS, TCP/IP, POSIX APIs, and socket programming
• Familiarity with source control systems (Git or others)
• Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and methodologies

Assets:

• Understanding of networking and security concepts, especially in TLS stack
• Experience with scripting languages (Shell, Python, or Perl)
• Basic understanding of Linux/UNIX server or system management

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

The Canada base salary range for this full‑time position is expected to be between $112,000 - $137,000 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
