Job summary

Invision AI in Toronto seeks a Senior Full Stack Developer to advance our real-time distributed edge and cloud systems. You will work on machine learning, image processing, and video processing across embedded and cloud architectures, contributing to scalable, high-performance products for mobility solutions.

The role emphasizes owning cloud/edge design, API development, and front-end implementation while collaborating with an international team on cutting-edge technology and equity-based

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience deploying web applications.
• Experience with Elixir and Phoenix LiveView.
• Experience with another framework (Django, Ruby on Rails) and relational databases.
• Familiar with Docker, Linux and web servers (Nginx/Apache).
• Experience with Kubernetes deployment or similar distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS, Google Cloud or equivalent.
• Designing web apps with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of modern Software Engineering practices (TDD, CI).
• Strong written and oral communication.
• Solid understanding of web security practices.

• Take ownership in the design and development of our cloud and edge infrastructure, web apps and APIs.
• Design and implement client-side and server-side architecture.
• Recommend, implement, and manage infrastructure for our different lines of products.
• Build the front-end of applications with appealing visual design.

Requirements

Must Have

• 5-years' experience deploying web applications
• Experience with Elixir and Phoenix LiveView ( an article about Elixir at Invision AI)
• Experience with another framework (Django, Ruby on Rails), and relational databases
• Familiar with Docker, Linux and web servers such as Nginx or Apache
• Experience with Kubernetes deployment (or similar distributed system)
• Experience withh AWS, Google Cloud or equivalent
• Experience in designing web applications with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Experience with modern Software Engineering principles and techniques such as Test-Driven Development and Continuous Integration
• Strong written and oral communication
• Solid understanding of web security issues and practices

Bonus Skills

• Knowledge of GIS, Leaflet/Mapbox, Web Canvas and PostGIS (our systems provide geo-referenced data)
• Experience deploying in virtualized environments
• Experience with NATS or similar
• Experience with Python and TypeScript
• Experience with efficient serialization and communication protocols (e.g. protobuf, gRPC)
• Familiar with data visualization and ML packages such as sklearn, pandas, seaborn and plotly
