HireLoft Recruitment is partnering with a well-established Canadian construction company to hire an experienced Electrical Project Manager / Electrical Superintendent for a major infrastructure project in the Ottawa region. This senior field leadership role oversees the electrical scope from planning through closeout and leads site teams to support safety, quality and profitability.

Qualifications

• 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician certification is required.
• 5+ years of experience as Electrical Project Manager or Electrical Superintendent on heavy, industrial or civil construction projects.
• Hands-on experience with high voltage installation is required.
• Experience on unionized sites and administering collective agreements.
• PMP or other project management certification is an asset.
• Valid WHMIS, Elevated Work Platform and Fall Arrest certificates.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the electrical scope of work on a large infrastructure project.
• Build and lead a high-performing project team including superintendents, forepersons, coordinators and electrical crews.
• Manage project schedules, cost codes and budgets, and be accountable for meeting or beating targets.
• Review estimates and identify opportunities to improve project margins.
• Generate and review RFIs, manage change orders and price extra work.
• Serve as the key point of contact for electrical submittals and ensure contract compliance.
• Oversee the equipment control log and review O&M manuals.
• Attend factory acceptance tests (FATs) and ensure equipment deficiencies are resolved prior to shipment.
• Review contract documents against quotations and bills of materials to identify scope gaps.
• Manage relationships with owners, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and vendors.
• Administer the terms of the collective agreement and lead a unionized workforce.
• Prepare and approve timesheets, provide performance feedback, and coach team members.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental policies and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Support commissioning, quality control, substantial completion, closeout and warranty processes.
• Document lessons learned and drive continuous improvement across projects.
