Roster: Monday to Friday

As a Senior Electrical Engineer (studies), you will drive the successful delivery of studies across projects of various natures and regions, including energy generation, transmission lines and substations. You will work collaboratively with multiple teams to deliver comprehensive optioneering that meet stakeholder requirements. Key focus areas include developing concept designs, scope of supply/work, material take offs / bills of materials, capital estimates and study reports, by considering and coordinating with other functions, such as Approvals, Mine Planning, and Project Delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand study requirements and development study problem statements and objectives
  • Develop study work plan based on stakeholders’ requirements (including scope of work, battery limits, deliverables, manhour estimates to carry out the works)
  • Managing a broad range of engineering design deliverables for compliance against project technical and practical requirements and in accordance with health, safety, environmental, quality (HSEQ), and governance (approvals) requirements
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to external stakeholders on electrical related topics, such as substation, transmission line, switchgear, transformers
  • Work collaboratively with other technical members to develop engineering options by including multi-discipline and multi-function considerations
  • Make informed decisions and provide direction regarding the concept design developments, often requiring multi-disciplinary knowledge
  • Autonomously identify, prioritise, schedule and coordinate engineering design with respect to study requirements
  • Lead the development of key project / study documentations, including study reports (which includes Basis of Design, Basis of Estimate, Material Take-Offs)
  • Ability to undertake domestic or international travel for project/study requirements (including site travel).
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • +5 years’ experience in mining or power industry required
  • Broad experience across various project delivery phases, i.e., Pre-feasibility, Feasibility, Detailed Engineering, Construction, Commissioning
  • Broad experience across electrical engineering fields, substations, transmission lines, communications, SCADA/Protection is high regarded
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously to produce project scopes, cost estimates, Basis of Design, Basis of Estimate and reporting documentation
  • Familiar with Australian Standards relating to electrical systems
  • Experience with renewable energy (Solar, wind), BESS
  • Experience with design and engineering tools is desirable. i.e. AutoCAD, MicroStation, PVsyst, Homer and PLSCADD
  • Ability to work with diverse design and broader functions within the companyHigh level of written and verbal communication skills.
