What you can expect to do here
  • You will lead the technical development of microgrid applications for low‑carbon fleet conversion projects, from preliminary studies to detailed engineering.
  • You will prepare, review, and approve specifications for microgrid systems including EV chargers, Solar PV, BESS, generators, energy management systems, and charge management systems.
  • Coordinate with utilities for interconnection, load forecasting, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Work with clients to identify their needs and transpose them into requirement registers.
  • You will prepare business cases for microgrid systems and on‑site energy storage.
  • You will advise clients on the benefits, risks, challenges, and capabilities of microgrid systems and their components according to their needs.
  • Oversee members of the design & drafting team.
  • Prepare, review, and approve electrical equipment and installation specifications.
  • Attend project technical reviews.
  • You will prepare and analyze bids and tender documents.
  • You will ensure deadlines are respected and that the quality of deliverables is ensured.
  • You represent the firm to clients.
What you’ll bring to WSP
  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of active Professional Engineering experience with microgrid systems
  • Registered as a Professional Engineering in one (1) or more Canadian provinces or territories.
  • Experience in Hydrogen generation and/or compressed gas distribution systems is an asset.
  • Excellent command of the Canadian Electrical code and local additions.
  • Fluent in the English language. Bilingual French and English is highly valued.
Compensation

Salary range (in British Columbia): $124 800 – $171 600
