What you can expect to do here
- You will lead the technical development of microgrid applications for low‑carbon fleet conversion projects, from preliminary studies to detailed engineering.
- You will prepare, review, and approve specifications for microgrid systems including EV chargers, Solar PV, BESS, generators, energy management systems, and charge management systems.
- Coordinate with utilities for interconnection, load forecasting, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Work with clients to identify their needs and transpose them into requirement registers.
- You will prepare business cases for microgrid systems and on‑site energy storage.
- You will advise clients on the benefits, risks, challenges, and capabilities of microgrid systems and their components according to their needs.
- Oversee members of the design & drafting team.
- Prepare, review, and approve electrical equipment and installation specifications.
- Attend project technical reviews.
- You will prepare and analyze bids and tender documents.
- You will ensure deadlines are respected and that the quality of deliverables is ensured.
- You represent the firm to clients.
What you’ll bring to WSP
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of active Professional Engineering experience with microgrid systems
- Registered as a Professional Engineering in one (1) or more Canadian provinces or territories.
- Experience in Hydrogen generation and/or compressed gas distribution systems is an asset.
- Excellent command of the Canadian Electrical code and local additions.
- Fluent in the English language. Bilingual French and English is highly valued.
Compensation
Salary range (in British Columbia): $124 800 – $171 600
The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
