Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our expanding National Defence portfolio team in Canada. You will design and execute electrical systems for diverse projects while coordinating with multiple offices and disciplines to meet client expectations and schedules.

You will lead technical delivery, manage resources, mentor staff, and contribute to business development within the Defence market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• P.Eng registration or eligible for registration in multiple Canadian provinces.
• 10+ years of electrical consulting experience with National Defence exposure.
• Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and standards.
• Experience in a consulting engineering environment managing time/resources/budgets.
• Willing to travel within Canada.
• Ability to obtain CISD Level II (SECRET) clearance.

Job description

AtkinsRéalis is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing team based in one of our available office locations in either Halifax, Ottawa, Toronto-GTA, Sudbury, Winnipeg, Calgary or Vancouver.

In this role you will be responsible for the electrical design and execution of a wide variety of projects, with a focus on serving our National Defence Portfolio for upgrade and expansion of buildings and related base infrastructure across Canada.

Responsibilities

• Design and execution of electrical systems for a variety of projects, focusing on National Defence Portfolio upgrades and expansions.
• Subject matter expertise in electrical building systems including power utilities & distribution, grounding systems, lightning protection, lighting, fire alarm, security systems, communication, control systems and sustainable building initiatives.
• Experience with training centers, vehicle and fleet maintenance, research laboratories, operational headquarters, personnel accommodation and ancillary facilities.
• Analysis of power distribution systems, short circuit studies, protective device coordination, arc flash & shock hazard, power factor study & correction.
• Maintain existing client relationships and develop new clients, coordinate work with other offices and disciplines, and satisfy customer expectations and requirements.
• Lead the electrical engineering commitments in accordance with scope, schedule, budget and procedures to ensure successful project completion.
• Resolve complex design/project execution issues through innovative solutions.
• Apply project management principles on management of own projects and of team members.
• Manage electrical staff resources assigned to projects, mentor continuous development, and recruit new team members.
• Provide technical guidance and quality assurance to electrical staff to ensure the technical adequacy of electrical engineering project work.
• Participate in the preparation of estimates and project proposals, and approve the estimates for Electrical Engineering.
• Lead and manage the delivery of electrical design and systems in multi-disciplinary projects from preliminary design through completion.
• Develop new business and support the growth of the National Defence market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with eligible for registration with multiple provinces in Canada.
• 10+ years' experience in electrical consulting, with significant exposure to National Defence projects.
• Knowledge and application of the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable industry and regulatory standards.
• Experience in a consulting engineering environment, managing time, resources, and budget allocations.
• Strong client focus, including taking initiatives for Business Development, Marketing, and responding to RFPs.
• Willing to occasionally travel to project sites within Canada.
• Ability to obtain CISD Level II (SECRET) Clearance.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $135,000 - $160,000 annually (Only Applicable to British Columbia).
