Job summary

Laporte is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for Calgary, Edmonton, or Lethbridge, Alberta. The role offers hybrid work with at least two days in the office and involves owning projects from concept to completion with minimal supervision.

You will lead design projects, engage with clients and suppliers, prepare specifications and reports, mentor junior E.I.T.s, and support cost estimates and shop drawing reviews.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer designation.
• Experience as an Electrical Engineer consultant in agri-food/pharma or food & beverage industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned projects from concept through completion with minimal supervision.
• Lead and manage design projects, proposals, on-site commissioning, or power system studies.
• Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary design team and with clients and suppliers.
• Prepare project specifications and reports; mentor junior E.I.T.s.
• Support development of construction cost estimates; review shop drawings for compliance.
