Job summary

Egis Canada is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Gatineau, QC. This senior role focuses on electrical infrastructure design for nuclear, oil & gas, and switchgear projects within a hybrid work environment.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of electrical experience, a P.Eng. in good standing (OIQ), and strong leadership in project execution and technical oversight. Collaboration with multiple disciplines is essential to deliver compliant, safe systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in good standing with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Minimum 10+ years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of design and project experience in Nuclear, Oil and Gas, Switchgear Electrical Building Design.
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and other applicable local and international electrical standards and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading electrical engineering design activities and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, review, and implementation of electrical systems for nuclear, oil and gas, and switchgear building projects.
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, engineering specifications, calculations, and technical reports per standards.
  • Perform design coordination with architectural, civil, mechanical, and other multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and design personnel.
  • Conduct quality reviews of engineering deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and other standards.
  • Coordinate with clients and stakeholders in project discussions and presentations.
  • Support engineering standards development through templates, procedures, and best practices.
  • Contribute technical input during project planning and execution for successful delivery.

Job Description

  • Participate in stakeholder coordination activities, including client meetings, project discussions, and technical presentations.
  • Support engineering standards development through the review and enhancement of departmental templates, procedures, and best practices.
  • Contribute technical input during project planning and execution activities to support successful project delivery.
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in good standing with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Minimum 10+ years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of design and project experience in one or more of the following sectors: Nuclear, Oil and Gas, Switchgear Electrical Building Design.
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and other applicable local and international electrical standards and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading electrical engineering design activities and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong project management, technical leadership, mentoring, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
Assets
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Experience using electrical engineering design software.
  • Knowledge of sustainability initiatives and energy-efficient design practices.
  • Additional experience across multiple industrial and energy infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience contributing to engineering standards, templates, and continuous improvement programs.
