Aplin is partnered with a leader in the construction industry to hire a Senior Electrical Engineer. You will be joining the Design and Engineering Services team, supporting a wide range of building and industrial projects across Canada. This role involves providing technical expertise throughout all phases of a project—from early design to completion.

Location: Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, or Toronto (based on candidate’s residence)

Key Responsibilities

• Review electrical drawings and specifications for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with codes and standards.
• Collaborate closely with design teams, trade partners, and construction teams to support project delivery.
• Recommend alternative design strategies and cost‑saving solutions for electrical systems.
• Participate in all stages of projects, including pursuit, design, construction, and close‑out.
• Support coordination of design information between engineering and construction teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in Canada (APEGA or EGBC preferred).
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in electrical building systems design.
• Experience working on large, complex projects ($200M+; $500M+ preferred).
• Familiarity with collaborative delivery models such as Progressive Design‑Build, Construction Management, or Integrated Project Delivery.
• Proficiency with software such as Procore, BIM, Revit, Revisto, and Navisworks.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
• LEED certification or experience with Net‑Zero building design is an asset.
• Construction administration experience considered an advantage.
• Willingness to travel as required.
