Senior Electrical Engineer – MIS004J

Purpose

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Electrical Engineer. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Mississauga, Ontario.

Our candidate will provide electrical engineering services on small to medium projects for the Electrical discipline at our client location in an operating facility and will interface well with the customer and coordinate with the rest of the project team.

Self‑motivated individuals with a desire to solve complex engineering problems, who show effective team leadership, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, will be ideally suitable for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Manage electrical engineering services and project requirements to meet customer, Worley, and regulatory standards—on time and within budget.
  • Lead engineering activities across all phases, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Ensure project scope is clearly defined and manage changes in accordance with project change control processes.
  • Provide technical leadership on specific projects and, if applicable, supervise team members and assign tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and other disciplines to ensure coordination and resolve issues.
  • Support quality assurance processes and verify engineering deliverables meet required standards.
  • Mentor and support junior personnel, contributing to their professional development.
  • Stay current with industry developments and apply relevant innovations to improve engineering outcomes.
  • Participate in progress meetings, prepare reports, and follow required checking and documentation procedures.
  • Identify technical issues, develop practical solutions, and elevate when necessary to ensure project continuity.
What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience:

  • Extensive experience in petrochemical operating facilities, including both grassroots and revamp projects.
  • Strong technical and practical electrical engineering skills, consistently delivering high‑quality, accurate, and timely work.
  • Excellent understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and working knowledge of other engineering disciplines.
  • Proficient in Canadian and international codes, standards, and regulatory specifications.
  • Skilled in electrical design deliverables including MV/LV systems, single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and area classification.
  • Experienced in layout design: lighting, grounding, cable routing, substation and MCC design.
  • Competent in electrical calculations and design for HVAC, ventilation, and fire alarm/control systems.
  • Proficient in software tools including MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, ETAP/SKM, and other electrical engineering applications.
  • Field experience in operating environments, including collaboration with maintenance and construction teams.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and power system studies is an asset.
  • Capable of preparing specifications, contract documentation, and electrical designs aligned with client preferences and applicable standards.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills; effective in multi‑disciplinary teams and fast‑paced environments.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

Required:

  • University graduate in Electrical Engineering or Applied Science.
  • Direct, senior‑level Electrical design and engineering experience, ideally in Petrochemicals.
  • P. Eng (Ontario) designation preferred or to be able to register within the next year.
