Wood is recruiting for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its BioProducts Canada business focusing on industrial projects in pulp & paper, biofuels, carbon capture, and utilities. This opportunity is hybrid, based in either Vancouver, BC or Grande Prairie, AB.

This role will support electrical engineering design and execution across a variety of greenfield and brownfield projects. The Senior Electrical Engineer will serve as Professional of Record on projects, prepare power system studies, and provide technical leadership for equipment specification, construction packages, and interdisciplinary coordination.

Expected :
  • Electrical Engineering degree from a recognized university
  • Professional Engineer registration or ability to register with EGBC and / or APEGA
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in industrial or process plant environments
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to self-manage and work in team settings
  • Permanent residency or citizenship in Canada
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 10 days per year
Desirable :
  • Registration eligibility with OIQ (Quebec) and / or WSPE (Washington State)
  • Knowledge and experience on Instrumentation and Control will be preferred
  • Experience with ETAP or other design software tools
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering database tools such as SmartPlant Electrical or Aveva Electrical
