  • The candidate will be responsible for leading store design and planning initiatives for new store openings, renovations, special projects, and brand activations across North America in collaboration with Retail Operations, Store Development, Brand Marketing, Merchandising, and Planning.
  • The candidate will manage relationships with a portfolio of architecture and design partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with the highest standards of brand expression and guest experience.
  • The candidate will be responsible for defining the creative and technical vision for store design across North America while enhancing quality, material selection, fixture design, and the premium experience of lululemon retail environments.
  • The candidate will be responsible for leading the end-to-end store design process from concept development through construction and post-opening reviews while ensuring design excellence and operational feasibility.
  • The candidate will be responsible for collaborating with Global teams to adapt design principles into solutions that meet regional needs while providing North America insights to support the development of future global concepts.
  • The candidate will be responsible for designing and continuously enhancing the guest journey by improving store layouts, navigation, product storytelling, fitting room experiences, customer service experiences, and omnichannel touchpoints.
  • The candidate will be responsible for managing large-scale store design rollouts across North America while ensuring creative excellence, operational efficiency, timely market delivery, and scalable execution.
  • The candidate will develop and maintain scalable design standards, fixture programs, material palettes, and toolkits to ensure consistent execution across new stores, renovations, pop-ups, flagships, and experiential formats.
  • The candidate will be responsible for collaborating with Real Estate, Construction, Procurement, Finance, Retail Operations, Visual Merchandising, Brand, and external agencies to ensure stores achieve commercial success and operational effectiveness.
  • The candidate will be responsible for maintaining design quality standards by evaluating drawings, fixtures, materials, prototypes, and site conditions to ensure compliance with brand expectations, budget, and local requirements.
  • The candidate will build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of store design professionals and external partners while fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous development and delivering results across a complex portfolio of projects.
  • The candidate will be responsible for leading innovative and agile approaches to design challenges while developing practical solutions that support business growth and improve existing practices.
  • The candidate will be responsible for using guest, educator, operational, and business insights to improve store concepts, strengthen design standards, and refine future rollout strategies.
Job Requirements
  • The candidate must have at least 15 years of experience in retail store design, architecture, or interior design for a consumer-focused global brand.
  • The candidate must have at least 10 years of experience leading store design teams, with a proven track record of building high-performing organizations and mentoring, coaching, and inspiring top talent to deliver exceptional results.
  • The candidate must be a strategic, creative, and people-focused leader with the ability to influence senior executives, including the CEO, President, and Board-level audiences, supported by strong business and financial acumen.
  • The candidate must have exceptional stakeholder management, collaboration, and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to partner effectively across global and regional teams and work successfully within complex matrixed organizations.
  • The candidate must demonstrate integrity, accountability, and a commitment to developing talent, fostering high-performing teams, and creating an inclusive culture.
  • The candidate must have a degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or an equivalent field.
  • The candidate should have NCIDQ and/or LEED accreditation, which will be considered an asset.
  • The candidate must have advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Smartsheet, and Microsoft Office, while experience with Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, Enscape, V‑Ray, or other visualization tools will be considered an asset.
  • The candidate must have a strong portfolio demonstrating elevated creative vision, premium retail design, spatial storytelling, fixture development, technical excellence, and successful execution across multiple store formats at scale.
  • The candidate must have a deep understanding of guest experience, visual merchandising, store planning, retail construction, building codes, accessibility requirements, sustainability, and operational performance.
  • The candidate must have proven success leading large-scale retail design rollouts, managing complex portfolios, and balancing creative ambition with business, operational, and financial objectives.
  • The candidate must have experience working within global and regional design models while adapting global concepts for local markets and maintaining brand consistency and governance.
