Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, seeks an experienced Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech IV) to maintain and repair complex equipment with limited supervision in a safe, professional manner. You’ll regularly provide exceptional customer service to our clients and support our Service Department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• 5+ years of experience maintaining/remodeling equipment and tools.
• Own the tools needed for the position.
• Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools with a high degree of independent judgment.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance as needed; keep a clean, professional service vehicle.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) daily.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
