Job summary

General Motors in Markham, Ontario is seeking a Senior Software Quality Automation Developer to lead design and development of internal full‑stack tools and automation frameworks that support CI/CD and QA across engineering teams.

You will work on backend services and frontend visualizations, with a strong emphasis on test automation, performance monitoring, and IT compliance within a cloud-based DevOps environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Software Development, Quality Assurance, tools development, web application development.
• Specialized in mainstream computing languages such as Python or C++.
• Familiarity with data structures and algorithms.
• Frontend development (HTML, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS frameworks) and/or backend development (Node.js, Express, Flask, GraphQL).
• Familiarity with databases (MongoDB, SQL/NoSQL, Postgres, Databricks) and understanding data flows between systems.
• Familiarity with test frameworks such as Robot, Unittest, Selenium, PyTest, CppUTest, etc.
• Strong problem-solving mindset, eagerness to learn, and collaboration.
