How You Will Contribute:
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for seamless integration, delivery, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline workflows and enhance automation.
  • Drive technical leadership by establishing best practices and architectural standards in DevOps solutions.
  • Optimize infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions.
  • Champion the adoption of modern DevOps tools, methodologies, and technologies organization-wide.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for processes, tools, and systems.
The Must Haves:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience in DevOps roles.
  • Expertise in modern DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python and Bash.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
  • Proven ability to design scalable, secure systems and integrate third‑party tools effectively.
Nice to Haves:
  • Familiarity with Yocto Project for custom Linux distributions.
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes for container orchestration at scale.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and tools like Tekton for advanced automation.
  • Experience with Zabbix for infrastructure monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian suite (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence) for collaboration and project management.
Pay Range:

The annual pay range for this position in Canada is $102,800.00 - $164,200.00.

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non‑Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission. In addition to competitive compensation, Ciena offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, participation in 401(K) (USA) & DCPP (Canada) with company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company‑paid holidays, paid sick leave, and vacation time.
