Job Description

RBC Insurance is looking for a DevOps Developer to join our team and play a key role in enhancing our software delivery processes, ensuring system reliability, and driving the adoption of DevOps practices across the organization. As a DevOps Developer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and maintain scalable, software delivery pipelines that support our insurance operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting‑edge technologies, contribute to enterprise‑wide initiatives, and help shape the future of DevOps at RBC Insurance.

What will you do?
  • Design, develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline agile software development and delivery.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment. Ensure infrastructure is scalable, secure, and aligned with business needs.
  • Monitor and enhance system reliability, scalability, and performance. Enable and maintain quality gates – reviewing them periodically with the teams & proactively remediating any violations.
  • Collaborate with development, QE, and product teams to implement DevOps best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure high‑quality, maintainable, and secure code development.
  • Consult with Enterprise Architecture and Governance teams to review solution designs and ensure alignment with organizational standards and best practices.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues across the software delivery lifecycle. Provide root cause analysis and implement long‑term fixes to prevent recurrence.
What you need to succeed
Must have:
  • 2+ years of experience working with DevOps principals, CI/CD tools i.e. GitHub Actions, Jenkins, UCD, and building custom pipelines.
  • Experience working with Container Orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience working with Containerization platforms such as Docker.
  • Experience with deploying to cloud platforms: Azure, OpenShift, AWS.
  • Proficient with Java, Python, YAML.
  • Experience in supporting applications in production.
Nice-to-have:
  • Experience with QE Automation Tools.
  • Experience with AI to implement self‑healing pipelines & leveraging AI tools/LLM’s to create AI Testing as part of the pipeline.
  • Experience with Networking concepts.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., ELK, Grafana, Splunk).
