The Senior Development Engineering Technologist is responsible for providing technical reviews and assessments of complex land use applications, including subdivisions, zoning amendments, development and building permits, ensuring compliance with City regulations, policies, and Provincial legislation. This role acts as a technical expert on engineering reports, studies, and drawings, evaluates existing infrastructure conditions, and prepares servicing agreements for development projects. The position involves coordinating approvals with internal departments and external agencies, offering recommendations to the Approving Officer, and delivering efficient servicing reviews. Additional duties include supervising municipal infrastructure construction, training and guiding team members, resolving conflicts, and responding to inquiries from developers and consultants. The technologist applies broad engineering knowledge to assess alternative solutions, provides expertise to committees and Council, ensures adherence to safety regulations, and supports onboarding of new staff while performing other related tasks as required.
