Job summary

InVision Staffing Services Inc. seeks a Sr. Senior Development Engineer (Blow Moulding) to join our client’s Development Engineering team in Canada.

This role collaborates with process, application, melt delivery and technology teams to advance smart packaging and sustainability solutions. Responsibilities include leading experimental development, adapting stretch blow molding tech, and driving end-to-end solutions with customers.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of experience in related industries.
• Understanding of stretch blow molding concepts, system operation, and polymer properties relevant to processing.
• Lead Product Launch Teams and ability to travel internationally.
• Translate customer needs into innovative solutions using company technology.
• Use data analysis and machine learning as practical tools to find meaningful technical solutions.
• Background in application and technology development and IP generation.
• Excellent communication skills in English (verbal, written, presentations).

Job description

Our client is a recognized world leader within their area of specialization. We are seeking Sr. Senior Development Engineer (Blow Moulding) to work within their Development Engineering team. The successful candidate will be working alongside our process, application, melt delivery and technology teams to keep companies forefront of smart and iconic packaging, application development and sustainability solutions.

Description

• Identify and quantify relationships between application, injection molding process, PET / rPET material properties, reheating process, stretch blow molding process and package performance
• Lead projects aimed at: experimental development of new hardware, technology, processing or controls strategies that improve pellet to bottle OEE, performance and quality deepening companies scientific knowledge of stretch blow molding processing and technology
• Identify and adapt evolutions in key stretch blow molding technologies, applications and rigid packaging trends to maintain the competitive advantage of the products
• Data-driven scientific approach: First principles research, scientific relationships and numerical analyses to better interpret and predict poorly understood physical phenomena (causation vs. correlation)
• Develop end-to-end solutions in collaborating with business development teams and our customers
• Work closely with a team of cross-functional domain experts in A+E, Product Development and Validation teams to integrate innovations and new technologies into practical solutions
• Technical lead for projects, managing project timelines, resources and budgets

Qualifications

• Mechanical or Plastic Processing Engineering Degree preferably at master’s or PhD level
• 5-10+ years of experience in related industries
• An in-depth understanding of stretch blow molding concepts, system operation, package design, processing and an advanced knowledge of rheology and polymer properties relevant to processing.
• Lead Product Launch Teams as required and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to translate customer needs into innovative solutions utilizing companies technology suite
• Ability to use science and systematic methodologies, data analysis and machine learning as practical tools to find meaningful technical solutions for companies product offering
• Background in application and technology development as well as generating new IP
• Excellent communication skills in English (verbal, written, and presentation)
• Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and mentor team members
• Work well in progressive team environment
• Strong time and project management skills, and ability to delegate tasks and projects
