Job Description: Our client is looking for a Senior Developer, Equity Markets in Alberta!

Must Have Primary Skills

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 8 years of software development experience.
• A strong understanding of software design principles, system design, algorithms, and data structures.
• The candidate must demonstrate the application of best‑practices in the software development process.
• Extensive experience working with Python is required.
• Experience with database design and SQL.
• Strong understanding of systematic investment strategies and equity research practices.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.

Nice To Have Secondary Skills

• A CFA designation, master’s degree, or other relevant advanced education would be considered a strong asset.
• Experience with other languages such as Java or C#.NET would be considered an asset.

Proven Experience In

• Proven experience in the financial services industry, specifically in fund management and capital markets.
• Knowledge of systematic investment practices and public market products, trade workflow, and investment research would be an asset.

Additional Skills

• Operating Systems – Experience in at least 8 years of experience with software management.
• Software – Experience in at least 8 years of experience with MySQL (development and data retrieval).
