  • Food Service Consultants Society International (FCSI) certification is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple conflicting priorities simultaneously.

The Opportunity:

WSP is currently seeking a Senior Designer to join our Food Service team in our Ottawa, ON office. This role combines technical expertise in foodservice design with project management responsibilities. You will use your knowledge to lead projects from concept design through completion producing accurate technical drawings, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.

What you can expect to do here:
  • Analyze client requirements and provide advisory services to develop food service design options.
  • Develop detailed technical drawings and specifications for food service and laundry facilities including plans, elevations, details, and equipment schedules. Coordinate drawings with architects, engineers, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review shop drawings, conduct site visits and support construction administration.
  • Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to internal quality control processes.
  • Be active in representing the company through targeted industry organizations.
  • Support new and existing business development opportunitiesthrough proposals, presentations and client engagement. Lead and manage opportunities and projects.
What you’ll bring to WSP:
  • 10+ years of experience in the food service design industry, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • Long-term career goals in food service design.
  • Expertise in the design of food service and/or laundry areas for hospitality, commercial, healthcare, education, and residential buildings.
  • Strong knowledge of food service equipment, workflows and industry standards.
  • Food Service Consultants Society International (FCSI) certification is an asset.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, KCL and Revit.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple conflicting priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent technical, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Currently hold or able to obtain a Secret level security clearance.
  • French language proficiency is an asset.
