Job summary

We are looking for a Senior Dental Aide for our growing team! This position is responsible for overseeing administrative functions, managing front desk operations, assist dentists and hygienists during examination and providing exceptional customer service to patient. Job involves working on shifts and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Working Conditions: Fast-paced environment, tight deadlines, combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare invoices, schedule and process appointments.
  • Order and maintain dental and office supplies.
  • Train and supervise other dental assistants (2-3 people).
  • Prepare patients for dental examination and assist the dentist during examinations and dental treatment.
  • Educate patients concerning oral hygiene.
  • Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment.
  • Prepare dental instruments, fillings, compounds and various dental materials.
  • Take and develop X-rays.
Qualifications and Experience
  • 3 – 5 years experience in dental clinic.
  • Supervisory experience is required.
  • Healing Arts Radiation Protection (HARP) Certification is required.
  • Membership in the Canadian Dental Assistants Association is preferred.
  • Completion of an eight-month to one-year college or other program in dental assistance.
Additional Information
  • Vacancies: 1 Position
  • Wages: $37 per hour; 30-hour work week; overtime rate of $55.50 per hour after 44 hours per week
  • Benefits: 10 days annual vacation
  • Duration: Permanent, full time, year-round position
