Job summary

Une entreprise technologique à Montréal recherche un Ingénieur senior en fiabilité des bases de données. Le candidat idéal aura 2+ ans d'expérience avec MySQL, PostgreSQL et d'autres bases de données. Ce rôle implique la direction de projets de migration de données, avec un accent sur la sécurité et la performance. Vous ferez partie d'une équipe dynamique, en utilisant une approche axée sur les données et l'automatisation.

Qualifications

• 2+ ans d'expérience pratique avec MySQL et/ou PostgreSQL.
• 2+ ans d'expérience pratique avec MongoDB, Redis ou ElasticSearch.
• Expérience avec les services AWS.
• Fortes compétences en Infrastructure as Code, principalement avec Terraform.
• Connaissance pratique des conteneurs (Docker) et de l'orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Compétences en script et automatisation (Bash, Python, ou Ansible).
• Compréhension solide des structures de données et expérience avec de grands ensembles de données.
• Capacité d'analyse et de résolution de problèmes.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for a skilled and ambitious Senior Database Reliability Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. As a Senior Database Reliability Engineer, you’ll take on complex technical challenges and play a key role in evolving our modern, cloud-native data environment. What you’ll do and how you’ll have an impact

• Lead large-scale database migration projects driven by company acquisitions and rapid growth;
• Design and execute strategies for migrations, blue/green deployments, data archiving, and partitioning;
• Use AI-powered automation to strengthen our data platform across key pillars:
• Operational excellence
• Security & compliance
• Performance & scalability
• Resiliency & capacity planning
• Enhance database security and governance through least-privilege access, auditing, and streamlined access controls;
• Guide engineers in delivering fit-for-purpose database solutions across relational, key-value, and document models;
• Build self-healing, automated systems that improve observability, alerting, and operational efficiency;
• Research innovative solutions, run proof-of-concepts, and implement best practices;
• Maintain a strong culture of documentation by developing and sharing high-quality knowledge resources;
• Deliver robust, automated solutions using CI/CD pipelines.

What we’re looking for

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL;
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with MongoDB, Redis or ElasticSearch;
• 2+ years of experience with AWS cloud services;
• Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with a primary focus on Terraform;
• Practical knowledge of containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes);
• Proficiency with scripting and automation (Bash, Python, or Ansible);
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development and productivity tools to improve efficiency, automation, and code quality;
• Strong understanding of data structures and experience working with large datasets;
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities;
• Strong communication skills for explaining complex technical topics to peers and stakeholders;
• Experience working in a distributed team is an asset;
• Familiarity with SQL Server and Microsoft Azure is a plus.
