Job summary

Stantec seeks a Senior Database Geologist to join the Energy and Resources Canada West team. You will design, build, and optimize large geological databases and models to support resource estimation, mining, hydrogeology, and financial analysis.

You will lead data management projects, contribute to NI43-101/JORC reporting, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, with hybrid work options and potential remote arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology; M.Sc. degree preferred.
• 8–10 years of experience in managing large, complex databases.
• P.Geo or QP designation preferred.
• Strong QA/QC and data integrity across project lifecycles.
• Knowledge of NI43-101, JORC and SEC SK-1300 reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain geological databases using systems such as Access/SQL, AcQuire or similar tools.
• Manage large and complex databases with data acquisition, validation and QA/QC.
• Analyze data with GIS and database tools such as Access, Excel, MinePlan, ArcGIS, MapInfo, Torque.
• Build geologic models using MinePlan, Leapfrog, Vulcan or similar packages.
• Prepare independent technical reports as Qualified Person (NI43-101) or Competent Person (JORC).
• Assist in business development with new and existing clients.
