Zendesk is seeking a Senior Staff Data Scientist in Montreal to join the AI Security team. You will envision and develop ML approaches to identify anomalous activity and security risks, collaborating with Security Engineers, ML researchers, and product teams...

Lead the development of detection models, work with large-scale datasets, and mentor teams to advance data science capabilities across Zendesk's security stack.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience applying ML/AI in fraud detection, anomaly detection, or security.
• Strong SQL and Python programming skills.
• Experience with AI-assisted programming tools.
• Experience with large datasets and distributed computing (Spark, Snowflake).
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex concepts.

Responsibilities

• Run and develop the AI Security evaluation platform to test Zendesk AI features.
• Analyze large volumes of behavioral and user interaction data to identify patterns of abuse.
• Develop detection models using offline data to guide production implementations.
• Improve detection accuracy for spam and abuse while minimizing false positives.
• Collaborate with Security and Product teams on emerging data challenges.
