Job summary
Geotab Inc. in Oakville, Ontario seeks a Senior Data Platform Developer to build and maintain the internal ML and GenAI platform, enabling data scientists to train models and deploy AI agents for internal services and customers. You will work with Telematics big data, ensure platform health, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications
- 3–5 years experience in developing production-level systems using Python 3.
- 3–5 years experience in developing and maintaining production services on major cloud providers (GCP/AWS/Azure).
- Experience with containerization and deployment using Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift.
- Familiarity with AI/ML platforms, large language models and related frameworks.
- Knowledge of data processing and big data environments (e.g., BigQuery).
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain new ML platforms and generative AI applications.
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting for AI platform infrastructure.

Geotab is seeking a Senior Data Platform Developer who will be building the Geotab internal machine learning and generative AI platform. This role allows all Geotab data scientists and generative AI developers to explore, train, and build machine learning models, gain access to underlying Large Language Models, and build GenAI agent applications for internal services and end customers in production. As a Senior Data Platform Developer, your key area of responsibility will be developing and maintaining new machine learning platforms and managing generative AI applications and agents. You will be responsible for implementing logging, monitoring, and alerting services to ensure the health of Geotab’s AI platform infrastructure, as well as enriching big data with telematics data at scale. You will need to work closely with Geotab’s data scientists and internal teams to understand data processing needs and assist with data integration for newly developed AI platforms. To be successful in this role, you will be a self-starter who is keen to join an industry leader and enjoys working with complex, technical AI concepts.
- Develop and maintain new machine learning platforms managing the machine learning models and generative AI applications and agents.
- Develop processes and implement logging, monitoring, and alerting services to ensure the health of Geotab’s AI platform infrastructure.
- Develop processes to enrich Geotab’s big data with telematics data at scale.
- Work with data scientists to understand data processing needs and develop infrastructure solutions to support these initiatives.
- Create and maintain documentation for architecture, requirements, and process flows.
- Support internal Geotab teams to assist with data integration with newly developed AI platforms.
- Post‑secondary Degree specialization in Computer Science, Software or Computer Engineering or a related field.
- 3-5 years experience in a software developer or a similar role.
- 3-5 years experience in developing production-level systems using Python 3.
- 3-5 years experience in developing and maintaining production services in one of the mainstream cloud providers such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- 1-5 years experience in d esigning, building and maintaining production-level application containerization, such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Knowledge of fine‑tuning and self‑hosting vision large language models and generative AI related frameworks (Langgraph, CrewAI, LiteLLM) is a big plus.
- Experience with OpenSpec, Ralph, Agent Sandbox, and Sourcegraph is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of AI/ML platforms, such as Ray, VertexAI, Bedrock, and familiarity with Big Data environments (e.g. Google BigQuery).

The annual base salary for this position is the expected annual salary for this role, and may be subject to change. Geotab offers various perks and benefits and other compensation components that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary for this position depends on a variety of factors such as but not limited to skills, qualifications, education and overall experience, including the location the applicant lives while performing the job.
