This role combines technical depth with business impact. It involves building out pipelines as well as being customer facing.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and manage a modern data stack (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, MS Fabric, Power BI)
• Develop data governance, privacy, and compliance frameworks (PHIPA, HIPAA, PIPEDA)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Operations) to drive KPIs and insights
• Design scalable data models, pipelines, and reporting layers
• Oversee dashboards, analytics tools, and data accessibility for internal teams
• Mentor and grow a high-performing team of data engineers and analysts
• Identify and implement AI / ML opportunities to enhance predictive analytics and personalization

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics
• Proven ability to architect and scale data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, MS Fabric, dbt, Airflow, Power BI)
• Strong background in data modelling, warehousing (ELT / ETL), and Python / SQL
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience in a regulated industry such as health tech, fintech, or insurance
• Exposure to AI / ML development and deployment is an asset
• Leadership experience is an asset
