Why Keyrus, Why Now!

Keyrus is an international group of 3,000 experts across 30 countries, built on a single conviction: AI does not transform businesses. Architected intelligence does.

For more than 30 years, we have helped organizations build the data foundations that power intelligent systems. Today, we go further by designing and operationalizing intelligence that delivers measurable business value.

Building AI capabilities is only part of the challenge. Real transformation happens when those capabilities work within existing business systems, data environments, workflows, and processes.

At Keyrus, you'll work closely with clients to develop, optimize, and support enterprise data and analytics solutions, combining Databricks, data engineering, and business intelligence capabilities to deliver reliable business insights.

Technology amplifies. Keyrus culture differentiates. Industrial discipline connects the two.

Role details
  • Location: Hybrid - Toronto or Montreal, Canada (2 days per week in the office)
  • Contract: Full-time
What You'll Architect

As a Senior Data Consultant, you'll support and enhance enterprise data and analytics environments, with a strong focus on Databricks engineering, data pipelines, and production support.

You'll develop and optimize data transformations, maintain reliable analytics pipelines, and troubleshoot complex issues across production environments, while contributing to reporting and business intelligence solutions, including Power BI.

Your role requires technical autonomy, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to deliver high‑quality solutions under demanding client expectations while contributing to continuous improvement.

Your Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Databricks data pipelines and transformations using Python, PySpark, SQL, and notebooks, supporting modern lakehouse and medallion architectures (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance through pipeline testing, QA validation, gap analysis, troubleshooting, and production incident resolution.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to validate requirements, project scope, and acceptance criteria before development.
  • Proactively identify and communicate blockers, dependencies, and delivery risks, ensuring transparency and timely resolution throughout the project.
  • Own technical deliverables end-to-end, presenting completed solutions, explaining technical decisions, and obtaining stakeholder validation and acceptance.
  • Support business intelligence and reporting solutions, including Power BI, while contributing to continuous improvement and emerging AI‑assisted data engineering workflows.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation, contribute to engineering standards, and ensure effective knowledge transfer and operational handoffs.
Who You Are

You are an experienced Data Consultant with strong hands‑on expertise in Databricks, SQL, and modern data engineering. You are comfortable working independently in demanding production environments, investigating complex technical issues, and delivering reliable analytics solutions. You bring strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a consulting mindset, with the flexibility to contribute to business intelligence and reporting initiatives.

Experience

What you bring

  • 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data consulting, or related data and analytics roles.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience developing, maintaining, and optimizing Databricks pipelines and data transformations.
  • Proven experience working with modern lakehouse architectures, distributed data environments, and pipeline orchestration.
  • Experience supporting production analytics environments, including QA validation, gap analysis, and incident resolution.
  • Experience collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams, with ownership of technical deliverables.
  • Exposure to business intelligence and reporting solutions, preferably Power BI.
Technical Skills
  • Strong Databricks development experience using Spark/PySpark, Python, SQL, and notebooks, including Delta Lake and lakehouse/medallion architectures.
  • Experience with Unity Catalog for data governance, access management, and organization of data assets.
  • Data pipeline orchestration and automation using Databricks Jobs, Lakeflow Pipelines, and Databricks Declarative Automation Bundles.
  • Strong SQL and data engineering capabilities, including incremental data processing, pipeline testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with performance and cost optimization across Databricks workloads and production data pipelines.
  • Azure DevOps, CI/CD practices, version control, and development workflows in distributed data environments.
  • Familiarity with AI‑assisted development, Databricks Genie Agents / Conversational Analytics, and agentic data engineering workflows.
Nice to have
  • Hands‑on Power BI development, including DAX, data modeling, and report performance optimization.
  • Experience with MCP servers or similar orchestration frameworks.
  • Consulting experience in demanding client environments.
  • Experience supporting migrations, divestitures, or complex transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with SAP Datasphere.
  • Experience contributing to AI‑assisted or agentic data engineering practices.
What Makes You Successful
