Qualifications

• 5+ years defining data architecture and using Kimball to develop data marts.

• 5+ years using data modeling tools (SAP PowerDesigner, ERWin, Oracle Designer, SQL Developer Data Modeler, Visio).
• 5+ years of strong communication conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

12 month contract Senior Data Architect role leading a greenfield Enterprise Data Warehouse build within a complex public-sector justice environment.

• Senior Data Architect role owning end-to-end data architecture, from data profiling through Kimball dimensional modeling, ETL development, and Power BI reporting.
• High-impact data modernization initiative replacing legacy, siloed BI data marts with a fully integrated, governed Enterprise Data Warehouse.

Our client is seeking a Senior Data Architect to serve as the lead technical resource on a major data modernization initiative, consolidating several standalone BI data marts covering court cases, crown file ownership, courtroom utilization, activity, and adjournments into a unified Enterprise Data Warehouse. This hands‑on, end‑to‑end architecture role is responsible for reviewing existing data marts, defining the target data architecture, developing ETL processes, and ensuring the quality and governance of the new warehouse. You'll bring deep expertise in Kimball dimensional modeling, T‑SQL, and Microsoft Azure, combined with the communication skills to engage across technical and non‑technical stakeholder groups within a justice sector context. This is a rare opportunity to own end‑to‑end data architecture on a greenfield build within a critical public‑sector environment, with meaningful work that underpins judicial operations and justice delivery.

Our client's is undertaking a significant data modernization initiative to consolidate legacy, siloed BI data marts into a unified, governed Enterprise Data Warehouse. The environment is Microsoft‑stack oriented with Azure cloud infrastructure. Their team is collaborative, offering exposure to justice sector subject matter experts, data engineers, and enterprise architects, with direct involvement in shaping data architecture standards aligned to enterprise architecture frameworks.

You:

You'll bring the following experience and capabilities:

• 5+ years of demonstrated experience defining data architecture and using Kimball architecture to develop data marts.
• Completed training in Microsoft T‑SQL and/or Oracle/PL‑SQL and database development.
• 2+ years of experience working in or with public‑sector environments with awareness of FOIP and public‑sector constraints.
• 5+ years of experience with data modeling tools such as SAP/Sybase PowerDesigner, ERWin, Oracle Designer, SQL Developer Data Modeler, or Microsoft Visio.
• 5+ years of strong communication skills conveying technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders and influencing decision‑making.
• 3+ years of experience using justice‑sector data structures with knowledge of judicial process business rules.
• 2+ years of experience working in or with Court environments with awareness of judicial independence.

Compensation:

This role pays between $100 to $110/hr.
