Job summary

A prominent recruitment service provider in Canada is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to lead analytics initiatives and work closely with business partners. In this hybrid Toronto-based role, you'll engage in the analytics development cycle, produce user stories, and oversee strategic projects. Candidates should have over 5 years of relevant experience and strong communication skills. The role offers a competitive salary of $60-$65 per hour and a full-time, 15-month contract with the potential for extension.

Qualifications

  • Proven 5+ year's experience in a Senior Business Analytics / Business Analyst or Product Owner role.
  • University/College in computer science, information technology, math, or a related field.
  • Beginner/Intermediate proficiency in SQL.
  • Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude.
  • Capable of adapting quickly, managing multiple demands & competing priorities, while delivering to deadline.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with Power BI, Azure DataBricks is an asset.
  • Experience and business knowledge in Financial Services and/or Group Benefits is a valuable asset.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with business partners to analyze sophisticated/complex problems and understand business and technical goals and objectives.
  • Lead the execution of strategic initiatives and special projects by assessing their value, preparing detailed specifications, communicating requirements, and collaborating with various stakeholders.
  • Produce high quality user stories and acceptance criteria which support technical and business requirements.
  • Understand testing requirements and build and support test planning and execution.
  • Foresees problems instead of solving them, recognizes the needs for flexibility and diverse solutions.
  • Become a data domain subject matter expert while expanding Group Benefits business acumen.
  • Collaborate/coordinate with the Agile Kanban squad and business partners to deliver the Data Value Stream roadmap.
  • Identify opportunities and leading or overseeing initiatives to improve processes.
  • Actively engage in prioritizing and advocating for enhancements.
  • Use appropriate judgment in dealing with unexpected issues and requests.
