Job summary

Mistplay is seeking a Senior Data Analyst I, Product within its Data team in Montreal. You will drive analytics strategy, define KPIs, and build automated dashboards to inform the release of new product features and engagement strategies.

You will collaborate with Product, Lifecycle, Marketing, and Engineering to plan and analyze A/B tests, analyze funnel and cohorts, and translate complex data into clear insights for diverse stakeholders across the company.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of quantitative analysis experience, preferably in tech.
  • Experience with large data sets and distributed computing.
  • Fluency in SQL and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with cloud data technologies (AWS, Azure, Databricks).
  • Experience with A/B testing and inferential statistics concepts (significance, power, CIs).
  • Proven ability to communicate complex analyses to broad audiences.
  • Proficiency with Tableau or BI tools.

Responsibilities

  • Drive analytics strategy for Mistplay’s product by analyzing funnels, cohorts and user behavior to identify opportunities.
  • Define KPIs and build automated dashboards/reports to enable data-driven decisions.
  • Design, run and analyze multivariate product experiments to grow engagement and features.
  • Collaborate with data, product, marketing, and engineering stakeholders to scope projects and mitigate risks.
  • Plan and analyze A/B tests to inform product releases and feature improvements.

Job description

  • The Senior Data Analyst I, Product within Mistplay’s Data department will play a crucial role in enhancing Mistplay’s business performance through insightful analysis and driving analytics strategy
  • Reporting to the Manager of Data Analytics & Experimentation, you will collaborate with Product & Lifecycle Managers to plan and analyze the results of A/B tests, and drive insights reporting in order to inform the release of new product features and engagement strategies
  • Conduct proactive analysis to identify actionable insights, including diving into the core product funnel, user cohorts, and analyzing user behaviour data, in order to identify areas of the user experience that can be improved to drive new business opportunities
  • Define KPIs for the company and build automated dashboards, reports, and models to enable teams at Mistplay to make better decisions
  • Design, orchestrate, and analyze the results of multivariate product experiments to help drive growth, improve existing product features, and test new areas of opportunity
  • Collaborate with data, product, marketing, and engineering stakeholders to define business problems, scope out projects, identify risks and dependencies, and create execution plans

Experience with Python or another programming tool for statistical modelingPositive attitude and a healthy dose of natural curiosity. Questions have to be answered and our data isn’t just going to analyze itself. (We’re working on that.)Familiarity with cloud data technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Databricks to query and build data models and reportsPast experience in A/B testing, and a strong foundational knowledge of core inferential statistics concepts (significance, power, confidence intervals, variance, etc.)Pro-level ability to synthesize and communicate complex concepts and analyses in simple, easy-to-understand ways, to a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences4+ years of work experience doing quantitative analysis (preferably in the tech industry) and a proven track record of impacting a business or product decisionsFamiliarity with Tableau or any BI toolBA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Economics, Statistics, or other quantitative fieldsFluency in SQL. Experience pulling highly dimensional and complex data, as well as modeling scenarios and sensitivity analysis using ExcelA love of gaming and familiarity with the games industryUnderstanding of data science and machine learning techniquesExperience working with very large data sets and distributed computing (Hive/Hadoop)
