Overview

The Senior Cybersecurity Specialist plays a key role in implementing and maintaining the company’s cybersecurity program working closely with the IT team. As part of a multidisciplinary team you will deploy and manage security solutions and controls to protect the organization. You will also advise IT and business teams on security and compliance requirements. This hybrid role combines security project management with operational support. It requires strong technical skills autonomy and a commitment to quality service. With solid coordination abilities you will lead activities with internal stakeholders and service providers to ensure the operational effectiveness of controls platforms and technologies and support the evolution of cybersecurity strategic plans.

Responsibilities

  • Strengthen SecOps leadership within the company’s cybersecurity team.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third parties to implement remediation plans.
  • Prioritize risk mitigation in coordination with stakeholders.
  • Work closely with architects and other departments to ensure compliance with security programs.
  • Investigate security incidents, recommend or apply remediation actions, assess attack scope and affected systems, and collect data for analysis.
  • Identify infrastructure vulnerabilities using detection systems.
  • Recommend improvements to the company’s cybersecurity posture.
  • Stay current on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities and defense techniques.
  • Help develop security policies, standards and best practices.
  • Prepare detailed reports on incidents and security trends for leadership.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity and 3 years in a similar role;
  • Cloud security posture management (Azure / Google);
  • Vulnerability management: risk classification, patching, false positive analysis;
  • Development and maintenance of Security Operations Center (SecOps) activities;
  • Strong skills in incident detection and response including identifying malicious activity;
  • Proficiency with security tools: SIEM, EDR, DLP, Threat Intelligence etc.;
  • Experience with Linux and Windows environments;
  • Ability to collaborate with IT teams and lead end-to-end initiatives;
  • Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework especially mapping SIEM use cases to tactics and techniques;
  • Knowledge of security standards (NIST ISO 27001);
  • Information security certifications (CISSP, CEH, Security+, OSCP etc.) are considered assets;
  • Strong leadership, creativity, autonomy, sense of responsibility and priorities with a solution-oriented approach;
  • Oral and written fluency in French and English;
  • A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English both orally and in writing with colleagues, customers and other stakeholders in Quebec, the rest of Canada and internationally.
