Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Tax Manager for a diversified asset manager in the Greater Toronto Area. The role spans Canadian and U.S. tax compliance and planning for corporations and partnerships.

You will prepare working papers, tax provisions and returns, respond to audits, and monitor tax law changes while supporting joint ventures and cross-border structuring. Growth and development opportunities are included.

Qualifications

• University or college degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting or tax experience with corporate tax expertise.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building ability.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize working papers to support tax filings.
• Prepare tax provisions, estimates/instalments and income tax returns for Canadian and U.S. entities.
• Respond to income tax, GST/HST, and VAT audit inquiries across jurisdictions.
• Monitor changes in tax law and update policies accordingly.
• Support structuring of joint ownership arrangements and ventures.
• Identify green and sustainability tax credits (SR&ED, R&D).
• Assist with tax planning initiatives to improve efficiency.
