Job summary

EDF Power Solutions North America seeks a Senior Counsel to lead negotiations, drafting and review of commercial contracts, including M&A and project finance related documents. The role advises on regulatory strategy and compliance for renewable energy projects across North America, including permitting and governance matters.

You will manage internal clients and potentially outside counsel, while guiding the business on complex energy transactions and corporate structuring.

Qualifications

• Current bar license from one or more North American jurisdictions.
• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited US law school or JD/LLB from a Canadian law school.
• Typically 10+ years of legal experience in renewable energy/related matters.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiations and drafting of commercial contracts, M&A agreements, and related documents.
• Support due diligence for project debt and equity financing transactions.
• Provide strategic legal input on regulatory strategy and compliance.
• Supervise internal/external counsel and manage outside experts when needed.
• Develop training and improve legal department processes to mitigate risk.
• Offer leadership in corporate governance and project finance matters.
