Job summary

Manpower is partnering with a leading energy sector organization to recruit a Senior Cost Estimating & Analytics Advisor for Calgary/Edmonton on a 1-year hybrid contract. You will help develop multi-billion-dollar project portfolios and calibrate estimating tools to improve accuracy and reliability.

You will collaborate with Project Development, Project Controls, and other business partners to enhance cost intelligence, develop data-driven insights, and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of capital cost estimating methodologies.
• Experience with cost estimating systems, data visualization tools, and analytical platforms.
• CEP designation from AACE International is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, maintenance, enhancement, and calibration of capital cost estimating tools supporting multiple project areas.
• Analyze historical project performance, estimate variances, market data, and outcomes to improve estimating methodologies and accuracy.
• Develop methodologies to validate and calibrate estimating assumptions using internal data, contractor pricing, and market intelligence.
• Support major estimation tool recalibration initiatives when significant variances are identified.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, calibration procedures, user guides, and standards to improve consistency and governance.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, KPIs, and reporting solutions for actionable cost intelligence.
• Create and maintain analytical models, cost curves, and other decision-support tools.
• Collaborate with Project Development, System Planning, System Design, and Project Controls teams to deliver data-driven solutions.
• Provide timely support for stakeholder requests related to estimating tools, reporting, analytics, and cost intelligence.

We are looking for a Senior Cost Estimating & Analytics Advisor who will support the development of multi-billion-dollar project portfolio. As a member of the Systems & Solutions team, you will play a key role in improving the accuracy, reliability, and effectiveness of capital cost estimating tools, analytical models, and reporting solutions. You will work closely with Project Development, Project Controls, and other business partners to calibrate estimating tools, enhance cost intelligence, develop data-driven insights, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that support informed project decisions. What You Will Do

• Lead the development, maintenance, enhancement, and calibration of capital cost estimating tools supporting Gas Transmission Midstream, Liquids Pipelines, Renewable Energy, Gas Storage, and Core projects.
• Analyze historical project performance, estimate variances, market data, and project outcomes to identify opportunities to improve estimating methodologies and estimate accuracy.
• Develop methodologies to validate and calibrate estimating assumptions using internal project data, contractor pricing, and market intelligence.
• Support major estimation tool recalibration initiatives when significant variances are identified between estimate outputs and actual project results.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, calibration procedures, user guides, and standards to improve consistency, governance, and knowledge transfer.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, KPIs, and reporting solutions that provide stakeholders with actionable cost intelligence and project insights.
• Create and maintain analytical models, cost curves, and other decision-support solutions.
• Collaborate with Project Development, System Planning, System Design, and Project Controls teams to understand business needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Provide timely support for stakeholder requests related to estimating tools, reporting, analytics, and cost intelligence.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Construction Management, Business Analytics, or related discipline, with a minimum of seven years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of capital cost estimating methodologies, estimate validation techniques, and estimating tool calibration practices.
• Experience working with cost estimating systems, data visualization tools, and analytical platforms.
• Demonstrated passion for improving estimate accuracy, business intelligence, and organizational effectiveness through data-driven solutions.
• Proficiency in Power BI, data analytics tools, cost estimating software and reporting solutions.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) designation from AACE International, or an equivalent professional certification, is considered an asset.
