💼 Senior Cost Analyst (14-Month Maternity Leave Contract with Benefits)

We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Senior Cost Analyst to cover a 14-month maternity leave contract, reporting directly to the Director of Finance. This role is crucial for maintaining financial oversight of our production operations and offers an opportunity to significantly impact the business. This is a contract position with a possibility of becoming permanent, based on business needs and the candidate's performance.

Production Finance & Inventory Management (Primary Focus):
  • Manage and analyze $1.3 million in inventory.
  • Lead inventory reporting and analysis.
  • Conduct inventory audits as part of internal audit processes.
  • Review and investigate variance reports, specifically questioning areas like scrappage and material costs.
Budgeting, Forecasting, and Reporting:
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process and continuous forecasting, with a focus on cost of materials.
  • Prepare financial reports for the Director of Finance and other stakeholders.
Operations Support:
  • Handle supplier approvals and related financial processes.
  • Conduct internal audits (focused primarily on operations/inventory).
Stakeholder & Leadership:
  • Engage directly with production floor staff and "read the room" to understand their needs.
  • Adjust communication style to have down-to-earth conversations with production personnel, translating complex financial data into actionable insights for non-finance staff.
🎯 Required Qualifications
  • CPA Designation is required.
  • Proven experience in a hands-on finance role, ideally within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Proficiency with SAP is required.
🛠️ Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills
  • Experience with PowerBI and/or VBA.

Working knowledge of French is a plus.
