TEEMA in Toronto seeks a Senior Corp Accountant to lead the close cycle, consolidate IFRS reporting, and oversee offshore teams. You will manage revenue, FX, AROs, acquisitions and impairments while ensuring robust internal controls in a public-company environment.

The role requires a CPA/CA or progress toward designation, 5+ years of progressive accounting, IFRS knowledge, and NetSuite/Oracle experience. Strong Excel and English fluency are essential; French is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required or equivalent.
  • CPA/CA designation or in the process of obtaining is required or preferred.
  • Minimum five years in progressive accounting, public-company experience ideal.
  • Strong IFRS knowledge and multinational consolidations required.
  • Mining or natural resources experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close including journal entries and variance analysis.
  • Own full-cycle accounting for corporate entities and mining operations.
  • Manage revenue accounting, provisional pricing settlements and reconciliations.
  • Support complex accounting matters: FX, AROs, acquisitions, financing, share-based compensation and impairments.
  • Assist consolidated IFRS reporting and external reporting needs.
  • Oversee offshore/shared-service teams and set service standards.
  • Coordinate with Treasury, Tax, Ops and FP&A on key issues.
  • Support audits and maintain strong internal controls in a public company.

Job Title: Senior Corp Accountant

What you will be doing:



  • Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual close process including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and variance analysis.


  • Own full-cycle accounting for assigned corporate entities and mining operations.


  • Manage accounting for revenue streams, provisional pricing settlements, and related reconciliations.


  • Support the assessment complex accounting matters including foreign exchange, AROs, acquisitions, financing transactions, share-based compensation and impairment indicators.


  • Support preparation of consolidated IFRS financial information and external reporting requirements.


  • Oversee offshore accounting team deliverables, establish service standards and provide mentoring and development.


  • Coordinate with Treasury, Tax, Operations and FP&A on key accounting matters.


  • Support with audit requests and maintain strong relationships with external and internal auditors.


  • Maintain strong internal controls, policies and procedures in a public-company environment.




What you must have:



  • This position requires a minimum education of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance or accounting with a CPA, CGA, CA or equivalent professional designation, or in the process of obtaining the designation.


  • This position requires a minimum of five (5) years experience in progressive accounting, including public-company experience.


  • Strong understanding of IFRS and multinational consolidations.


  • Experience in mining, natural resources or other complex global organizations is preferred.


  • Demonstrated experience supervising offshore or shared-service teams.


  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite and Oracle.


  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.


  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is a strong asset.




Salary/Rate Range: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00
