Job summary

Samco Machinery is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to design, develop, test, and support electrical equipment and systems. You will program PLC and HMI on multiple platforms, update electrical drawings with AutoCAD Electrical, and troubleshoot during testing and installation.

The role requires five years in electrical controls, strong problem-solving, and the ability to mentor others. Travel up to 25% and occasional after-hours work are expected.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or college diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering or technology with emphasis on control systems.
• Five years technologist experience in electrical controls field.
• Five years PLC and HMI programming with multiple manufacturer platforms.
• Experience with RSLogix 5000/500 or Bosch Rexroth software.

Responsibilities

• Program and debug ladder logic on PLC platforms (Allen Bradley, Bosch-Rexroth, Codesys).
• Develop structured, documented, maintainable code.
• Use AutoCAD Electrical to update design drawings.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues during testing, on-site installation, and warranty calls.
• Startup of AC drives, Servo Drives & cut-to-length systems.
• Create robust programs for multi-station machinery and processes.
• Collaborate with supervisors and coworkers to ensure on-time quality products.
