Job summary

BDO Canada is seeking a Senior Consultant for its Strategy, Value Creation & Analytics practice in Financial Advisory Services. The role focuses on driving EBITDA and cash flow improvements through data-driven approaches.

You will conduct research, support financial modeling, and contribute to client reports while collaborating across teams and supporting business development efforts. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of relevant work experience in strategy, financial planning & analysis, and/or management consulting.
• Interest in sustainability and ESG is an asset.
• Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint design, layout, and storyboarding.
• Skilled in financial analysis or modeling, data analytics and visualization, market research and analysis.
• Familiarity with modern data analytics and AI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, ChatGPT, Notion.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed research and analysis of client, industry, and market performance to support practical strategies.
• Assist in financial analysis and modeling to support project objectives.
• Participate in client meetings, take notes, and gather relevant information.
• Contribute to content development for client projects, including data gathering and reporting.
• Collaborate with team members to support project delivery and planning.
• Support sales, business development, and marketing activities including proposals and presentations.

The types of projects the team works on include:Performance improvement and turnaroundRevenue growth and margin improvementCost reduction and working capital optimizationStrategy and business planningProcess improvement and operating model designM&A:Market, commercial, and operational due diligencePre-divestiture performance improvementIntegration or carve-out/separation planning and executionSynergies analysisApplied business analyticsIn your role as a Consultant/Senior Consultant, you will:Conduct detailed research and analysis of client, industry, and market performance to support the development of practical strategies and action plansAssist in financial analysis and modeling to support project objectivesParticipate in client meetings and interviews, taking detailed notes and gathering relevant informationContribute to content development for client projects – including data gathering, analysis, and drafting sections of reports and presentationsCollaborate effectively with team members and support project deliveryDevelop expertise in several of the Strategy, Value Creation & Analytics project areas listed aboveSupport the practice's sales, business development, and marketing activities (including assisting with proposals and presentations)Identify potential opportunities to assist existing clients and report to senior team membersActively participate in supporting the development of the Strategy, Value Creation & Analytics practiceHow do we define success for your role?
