Job description

As a Senior Consultant within the Group Benefits Plan Sponsor Risk Management team, you will provide first line of defense oversight for plan sponsor‑related risks and contractual governance. This role supports the review and negotiation of standard Manulife service and product agreements, assists with audits and RFP responses, and contributes to process improvements that strengthen risk controls and enhance client experience.

Position Responsibilities
  • Negotiate standard Manulife master service and fee‑for‑service product agreements (MSAs, OAs, DPAs, NDAs, Health and Wellness, SSO) for our Corporate plan sponsors.
  • Conduct risk and compliance reviews to ensure alignment with contractual standards and risk appetite.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Privacy, IT Risk and other SMEs to ensure regulatory and operational compliance.
  • Assist with audits and RFPs, including developing standardized documentation and templates.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen risk governance and client experience.
  • Optimize tools and templates, leveraging generative AI to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
  • Foster collaboration across internal teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • 5–7 years of experience in Group Benefits (claims, underwriting, fraud management, or contract governance).
  • Strong understanding of Manulife products, service agreements, and risk governance frameworks.
  • University degree or equivalent experience in business, legal, analytics, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
  • Familiarity with contractual negotiation and compliance practices.
  • Experience supporting audits and RFPs in a client‑facing environment.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communicator with stakeholder engagement experience and collaborative mindset.
  • Proficiency in leveraging digital productivity tools, including Microsoft Copilot/MFC Chat and generative AI, to improve efficiency and decision‑making.

Salary range is expected to be between

$68,775.00 CAD – $114,625.00 CAD
