Job summary

Canada Life in Toronto is seeking an experienced Communications Specialist to develop content across channels including email, intranet, events and video. You will partner with business leaders to understand priorities, manage deliverables and ensure consistent messaging across audiences.

This permanent full-time role requires 3–5 years in communications, strong storytelling and editing skills, and proficiency with Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online and Teams.

Qualifications

• Completion of a post-secondary degree in communications or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
• 3–5 years of progressive communications experience across channels and platforms.
• Exceptional communication, storytelling, writing and editing skills.
• Proven ability to manage personal production and deliver high-quality work on tight timelines.
• Strong collaboration and relationship-building for a national team across locations.
• Comfort working in fast-paced corporate communications with ambiguity and evolving priorities.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 and related tools.
• Experience using SharePoint Online, Teams and Microsoft Live Events is an asset.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop content and copy for emails, SharePoint, intranet sites, events, PowerPoint, social media and video.
• Assess project communication plans, define audiences and deliverables to support program execution.
• Build relationships with business partners to understand priorities and needs.
• Manage deliverables and elevate issues to Communications Manager and portfolio leadership.
• Collaborate with internal creative partners to ensure consistent messaging and timing.
• Intake projects, manage production and deliver high-quality tactics on time and scope.
