Job summary

Outpost Recruitment is assisting a large infrastructure contractor to hire a Commercial Manager with 10+ years of experience in the construction phase of large projects ($100m+). The role spans Vancouver, BC, Toronto, ON and remote FIFO locations, with a salary of CAD 160,000–CAD 220,000 per year.

The successful candidate will lead the commercial team, manage design-build contracts, subcontracts and procurement, provide commercial guidance to project leadership, and ensure cost control,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and/or corresponding professional membership.
• Minimum 10 years of commercial management experience on major projects.
• Proven track record delivering commercial outcomes on major projects.
• Experience managing major subcontracts and design consultancies.
• Local Canadian experience preferred — minimum of one year local experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage design build contract administration, changes and payment claims.
• Subcontracts administration, changes and claims.
• Procurement, expediting and goods receipt.
• Commercial reporting and cost control.
• Provide commercial advice to project leadership.
• Develop and implement the Procurement Management Plan and commercial and contractual management policies, procedures and systems.
• Risk identification and mitigation of commercial risks.
• Provide training and development of commercial staff.
• Manage subcontract procurement, administration, changes and claims.
• Commercial management of the design consultants.
