Job summary

Phoenix Glass is seeking a Senior Estimator with a strong commercial glazing background to take ownership of assigned opportunities from preliminary budgeting through detailed estimating, tender submission and project handover.

Reporting to leadership, you will review drawings, prepare budgets, develop pricing and negotiate with clients and contractors while coordinating with drafting, purchasing and project management. This role emphasizes hands-on estimating and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of direct commercial glazing estimating experience required; ten+ preferred.
• Ability to independently manage glazing estimates from review to award, including complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of curtain wall, storefront, windows, entrances, glass products, aluminum framing and related components.
• Practical understanding of glazing fabrication and field installation, including labour requirements and sequencing.
• Strong ability to interpret drawings, specs and details with judgment on pricing risks.
• Proficiency with Excel and digital takeoff tools; experience improving estimating tools is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates for assigned glazing opportunities, including budgets, design-development pricing, tenders and negotiated projects.
• Review drawings, specs, addenda and tender requirements to establish complete scope and pricing.
• Develop pricing for materials, fabrication, installation, equipment and project costs.
• Identify scope gaps and risks; obtain clarifications with leadership before submission.
• Prepare proposals with clear scope, inclusions, exclusions and assumptions.
• Lead project handovers with management, drafting, purchasing and operations.
• Support estimating tool improvements and transfer of data to other teams.
