Job description

Job Description

What if you could redefine what's possible? With us, you can. You want Purpose. Growth. Opportunity. People who get it.

We are the home of ambitious, passionate, and innovative world shapers. With an unmatched breadth and depth of engineering, advisory and science‑based expertise, our global minds unite to power local solutions. We are pathfinders and impact makers. We are Visioneers. We are WSP.

The Opportunity: Build the Future with Us

Step into a pivotal role where cloud networking meets automation excellence. As a Senior Cloud Network Architect you will shape, standardize, and deliver secure, scalable Azure networking solutions across Canada. This position combines architectural leadership with hands‑on DevOps execution—empowering you to define enterprise guardrails while building reusable, production‑ready network platforms that drive innovation and reliability at scale.

Your Impact
  • Define, document, and govern Azure networking reference architectures, standards, guardrails, and reusable patterns (segmentation, routing, DNS, private access, and network security).
  • Provide architectural review and formal sign-off on Azure network designs, ensuring consistency, scalability, resiliency, and security alignment, including Zero Trust principles.
  • Architect and maintain global connectivity patterns and cloud connectivity services supporting enterprise and hybrid environments.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for cloud network provisioning and champion reusable modules for scalable, self‑service networking.
  • Integrate network provisioning into CI/CD workflows, including state management, drift detection, and automated validation to enforce consistency.
  • Implement automated baseline checks, compliance controls, configuration consistency, and telemetry pipelines for network services.
  • Implement hub‑spoke and Virtual WAN architectures across Azure regions, including private connectivity solutions (Private Endpoints, Private DNS, NSG/UDR patterns).
  • Enable secure external and internal routing patterns using Azure Front Door and Azure Firewall technologies.
  • Troubleshoot complex cloud and hybrid network issues across environments.
  • Establish monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and security telemetry using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
  • Support incident response, runbooks, and change/release coordination for network and platform services.
  • Validate resiliency, disaster recovery, and continuity plans through hands‑on testing and operational readiness practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation and standardization, reducing lead times and improving reliability.
  • Collaborate with Security, Identity, and Platform Architecture teams to evolve guardrails and enable secure delivery.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to roadmap development for scalable, reusable network platform services.
The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8–10+ years of hands‑on network engineering and architecture experience.
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure networking, including segmentation, routing, DNS, private access, and network security.
  • Expert‑level knowledge of BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, SD‑WAN, VPN/IPSec, IPv4/IPv6, and enterprise‑scale troubleshooting.
  • Strong proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code and automated network deployment pipelines.
  • Extensive experience with DevOps automation and CI/CD best practices for infrastructure delivery.
  • Experience participating in architecture governance and review forums.
  • Strong written communication skills, including authoring architecture documents, ADRs, and technical standards.
  • Ability to operate independently and collaborate across globally distributed teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of information security practices in infrastructure delivery and operations.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with enterprise‑level information security requirements.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
Preferred
  • Experience managing multi‑region Azure environments with data residency considerations.
  • Experience working with third‑party vendor development teams.
  • Exposure to FinOps and cost‑optimization in cloud automation.
