As owner and operator of the vessels, we provide skilled officers and crews dedicated to the safe, reliable, and economical operation of our fleet. Seaspan's fleet has evolved over time to meet the varying needs of our customer base. We own vessels in a wide range of sizes, from 2,500 TEU to 24,000 TEU. Our main operating offices are located in Singapore, Vancouver, Hong Kong, and Mumbai.

The Senior Cloud Infrastructure Administrator is a senior technical contributor and subject-matter expert responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and operational reliability of Seaspan’s cloud, hybrid, and on‑premise infrastructure platforms. This role provides technical leadership across cloud architecture, automation, security, and cost governance, and acts as a Tier 3 / escalation point for complex infrastructure issues in a global operational environment. The role works closely with the Manager, IT Infrastructure to translate business and operational needs into scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure solutions that support office, vessel, and enterprise systems. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to deeply analyze complex cloud architectures, and the expertise to design scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions that align with business priorities and operational demands.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud, hybrid, and on‑premise infrastructure solutions aligned with Seaspan’s enterprise and maritime operational requirements.
  • Own technical architecture and solution design across platforms including Microsoft Azure, virtualization, identity, networking, and security services.
  • Lead complex infrastructure initiatives including cloud migrations, platform modernization, resilience improvements, and lifecycle upgrades.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and recoverability of core infrastructure services through proactive monitoring, capacity planning, and incident prevention.
  • Act as Tier 3 escalation for complex infrastructure incidents, leading troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and permanent corrective actions.
  • Design, maintain, and regularly test backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions to meet defined RTO/RPO objectives.
  • Develop and maintain automation and scripting solutions to improve reliability, consistency, and operational efficiency.
  • Implement infrastructure‑as‑code and configuration management practices where appropriate.
  • Drive cloud cost optimization initiatives, including resource right‑sizing, usage analysis, and ongoing financial governance.
  • Ensure infrastructure platforms meet Seaspan’s cybersecurity, compliance, and access‑management standards.
  • Support vulnerability management, patching, and secure configuration baselines across cloud and on‑prem environments.
  • Collaborate with security and governance teams on audits, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to cloud and infrastructure team members.
  • Contribute to standards, documentation, and best practices to ensure consistent engineering outcomes across environments.
  • Partner with application, Marine IT, Service Delivery, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable platform outcomes.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on‑call rotation to support critical infrastructure systems and operational requirements.
  • Provide remote and occasional onsite support for global offices and vessels as required.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud engineering, or systems/network engineering roles.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Azure.
  • Experience supporting hybrid environments including Active Directory, identity and access management, networking, and virtualization platforms.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting and resolving complex infrastructure issues in production environments.
  • Strong scripting and automation experience (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, or similar).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to varied audiences.
  • Cloud and infrastructure certifications (e.g., Azure, Microsoft, Fortinet, CCNA or equivalent, Citrix Cloud) are strong assets.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and incident response platforms.
  • Experience implementing Azure DevOps‑enabled platform components
  • Maritime, industrial, or geographically distributed environment experience is an asset.
  • Participation in on‑call support rotation, including after‑hours availability when required.
  • Ability to undertake occasional domestic and international travel, sometimes on short notice.
  • Ability to perform occasional work in industrial environments is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg.
