What will your typical day look like?

Job Overview: Deloitte Cloud Services reports to the office of the Deputy CIO of Technology and is responsible for delivering cloud solutions which accelerate the delivery of both revenue-generating and internal applications. Deloitte Cloud Services supports software development efforts and provides best practices which streamline and fully automate the release management pipeline.

Role: As a Senior Cloud Architect you will drive the design and delivery of world-class cloud solutions based on the GCP platform for the office of the Deputy CIO of Technology, providing expertise on cloud infrastructure services. This includes taking a lead role in the cloud architecture and engineering practice. You will be challenged to find approaches that enable rapid adoption of new cloud services and drive transformation for our business and IT processes.

Your responsibilities include partnering with business-led development teams and successfully leading the design of cloud solutions. You will be challenged to find approaches that enable rapid adoption of new cloud services, drive transformation, and transform IT.

Responsibilities
  • Define the GCP Cloud Architecture for both hybrid and non-hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Be the go-to person for GCP Cloud Architecture with deep understanding of IaaS and PaaS services and how to combine them to build complex solutions.
  • Ensure that all cloud solutions follow security and compliance controls.
  • Participate in establishing an automated DevOps release management pipeline and cultivate a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery mindset.
  • Lead the establishment of DevOps ALM tooling and processes to deliver a fully automated release management pipeline (build, environments, testing, deployments, production metrics).
  • Partner with development and operations teams to develop practical automation solutions and troubleshoot issues.
  • Act as a trusted automation and tooling advisor for DevOps initiatives.
  • Plan and control multiple responsibilities to achieve project objectives; ensure deliverables are high-quality and on time.
  • Drive continuous improvement of ALM processes and tools; develop and own KPIs to measure performance against business outcomes.
  • Certifications (Desired): Google Professional Cloud Architect; Google Professional Data Engineer; Google Professional Cloud Developer.

Note: After hours on-call support occasionally required.

About you
Required Qualifications
  • 8 years of experience in the IT field.
  • 3-5 years of experience with Google Cloud Platform services (Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, Persistent Disk, Cloud IAM, Cloud Security Command Center, Cloud Security Scanner, VPC, Cloud Load Balancing, Stackdriver Monitoring/Logging).
  • 3-5 years of Release Management experience spanning development, QA, UAT to production.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and practical implementations of DevOps.
  • Proficient knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Understanding of Scrum/Agile methodology and experience on a Scrum team.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps and release management tooling.
  • Experience with CI tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Bamboo, Jenkins, TFS, TeamCity, etc.; configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet; packaging (MSI, RPM, etc.).
  • Knowledge of networking, firewalls, load balancers, and IT operations best practices for always-on services.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or relevant experience.
  • Ability to travel ~10%.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Docker containers and Microservices architecture.
  • Understanding of automating builds for development through production within a Continuous Delivery model.

The salary range for this position is $104,000 - $215,000, with eligibility for our bonus program.
