Responsibilities
- Provide credit and administrative support to the Real Estate Banking team.
- Review new credits for prefunding conditions, reporting requirements and set up files and diary system.
- Coordinate completion of all documents required for current account onboarding (including Know‑Your‑Customer documentation); prepare relevant documentation for funding.
- Work closely with the business service center on fee collection, client maintenance, off‑boarding, payouts and reference letter preparation.
- Support collection of information directly from clients and other sources to assess risk profile and ensure compliance with KYC, AML and other regulatory requirements.
- Prepare credit files, funding checklists/advance documentation/draw requests, and liaise with solicitors for legal documents.
- Look for opportunities to improve processes and client satisfaction metrics.
- Champion diversity and other initiatives aligned with the bank strategy.
- Report to the Director and Group Lead, Real Estate Banking.
Qualifications
- Proven administrative experience supporting teams or portfolios in a commercial lending real‑estate banking or retail banking environment.
- Experience working with both borrowing and non‑borrowing clients, including complex or sophisticated financial solutions.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills to manage significant data from multiple sources and balance varied tasks.
- Strong knowledge of fulfilment processes and partner roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; some knowledge of Adobe Pro.
- High degree of flexibility to adapt to a wide variety of tasks.
- Familiarity with Scotiabank platforms (Intralink, Free Form Teller, Business Banking Client Portal, Enterprise Documents & Reports Retrieval, Salesforce, Shared Document Repository, PEGA, e‑consent, Trade360) is an asset.
