Job summary

Connor, Clark & Lunn Investment Management in Canada seeks a Client Portfolio Manager, Quantitative Equity to blend institutional client coverage with deep knowledge of quantitative strategies.

You will work closely with institutional clients, consultants, investment teams and internal stakeholders to explain portfolio construction, risk, and model behaviour, while delivering a high‑quality client experience.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in institutional asset management or related investment role.
• Experience with institutional clients, consultants, pensions, foundations or endowments.
• Strong understanding of quantitative investment strategies and ability to discuss portfolio construction, factor exposures, risk, attribution and implementation.
• Experience in a client-facing investment role with credible relationships with sophisticated audiences.
• Strong ability to translate complex quantitative concepts into clear client discussions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for senior clients and consultants.
• Strong relationship management and cross-team collaboration.
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple client relationships and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or related discipline.
• CFA designation or progress toward CFA is an asset.
• Experience with quantitative investment models, portfolio analytics or investment risk systems would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior investment and client-facing resource for a portfolio of institutional Quant clients and consultants.
• Develop trusted relationships with clients and provide ongoing investment-focused coverage tailored to their objectives.
• Explain quantitative investment strategies, portfolio construction, factor exposures, risk, attribution, implementation and model behaviour clearly.
• Lead and participate in client meetings, investment reviews, consultant meetings and presentations.
• Translate complex investment concepts and quantitative analysis into clear insights and recommendations for institutional audiences.
• Coordinate client inquiries and issues across investment, operations, product, legal and other internal teams.
• Identify emerging client needs and communicate insights to investment and senior leadership teams.
• Support client retention and business growth by deepening relationships and identifying opportunities to enhance the client experience.
• Contribute to evolution of the Quant client coverage model, processes and resources to support growth.
