CellCarta in Montreal, QC is hiring a Sample Management Technician to ensure precise handling, logging, and storage of biological samples in a GLP/GCLP compliant environment. You will work under the Sample Reception Manager, using LIMS to track samples and ensure chain-of-custody from receipt to shipment.

The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work on-site on a Tue–Sat schedule.

Sample Management Technician

CellCarta, a Contract Research Organization, is hiring a Sample Management Technician to join our dynamic team.

As a Sample Management Technician, you will have the opportunity to use your expertise and skills to ensure the precise handling, tracking, and integrity of critical biological samples.

Position Summary Reporting to the Sample Reception Manager, the Sample Management Technician is responsible for receiving, logging, inventorying and labeling samples in compliance with laboratory standards, safety protocols, and quality assurance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform the reception, inventory, labeling and storage of samples and study reagents.
• Accurately log the information into the laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Maintain proper storage conditions for the samples and reagents (e.g., refrigeration, freezing).
• Confirm proper delivery conditions or communicate any discrepancy or shipment non-conformity to designated individuals.
• Ensure the chain of custody is correctly maintained.
• Prepare the shipments of samples and study reagents to send to clinical sites, sponsors, or collaborators.
• Prepare, document and execute the destruction of samples Manage storage space for the various storage temperatures (from ambient to cryogenic).
• Perform tasks and maintain documentation as per appropriate SOP and applicable GLP regulations and GCLP guidelines.

• Proficiency in French and English, spoken and written; the incumbent will be required to interact with colleagues, regulatory authorities outside Quebec and will be required to read and draft documentation in English, as required by industry regulations.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite, especially Excel.
• Availability to work on some statutory holidays and occasionally work longer hours, depending on operational needs.
• Capability to lift loads weighing up to 25kg.

Preferred Qualifications

• College degree, Science-related is an asset.
• Experience in a similar role or laboratory environment is an asset.
• Experience with LIMS is an asset.
• Experience in working in a GLP/GCLP environment is an asset.
• Knowledge of IATA regulations is an asset.

Work Arrangements Position type: Full time position Work model: Fully on-site, 3650 St-Urbain Street, Montreal, QC, Canada, H2X 2P2 Working hours: Tuesday to Saturday (weekdays 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Saturday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM).

Note that a shift premium will be applied.
