Job summary

Bed Bath & Beyond Canada is seeking a results-driven Category Manager, Merchandising to develop, manage and optimize product categories within our retail operations. You will lead pricing, assortment planning, vendor negotiations and cross-functional collaboration to deliver growth and profitability for the business.

The role requires deep retail buying experience in home goods, strong financial acumen, and the ability to translate data into actionable category initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in category management, merchandising, or buying in retail (kitchen/home goods).
• Strong pricing strategy and assortment planning experience.
• Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
• Experience with direct sourcing and product development is preferred.
• Marketing campaigns and in-store visuals experience is a plus.
• Strong financial acumen with track record of achieving targets.

Responsibilities

• Develop multiyear category portfolio strategies aligned with enterprise objectives and financial targets.
• Own annual budgeting, sales forecasting, margin planning, and KPI tracking for assigned categories.
• Manage assortment architecture, lifecycle planning, SKU productivity, and rationalization.
• Lead regular reviews of sales, margins, inventory turns, and profitability across categories.
• Source, negotiate, and manage vendor relationships to optimize pricing and terms.
• Develop planograms and in-store/online merchandising strategies with Visual Merchandising.
• Build promotional plans to drive traffic, velocity, and profitability across channels.
• Monitor inventory, replenishment, sell-through, stockouts, and markdown risks with Planning/Supply Chain.
