In addition, this role encompasses a range of responsibilities under the mandate of Funding and Liquidity Management Trading Canada (FLM), including support for CAD funding activities. You will be expected to maintain rigorous oversight of cash positions, proactively address funding requirements, and contribute to the effective execution of CIBC’s funding and liquidity strategies. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 4 days per week on-site, with one day remote.

Manage liquidity and settlement risk and reduce costs by trading settlement dislocation utilizing liquidity swaps in the Semaphore and Settlement Exchange markets. Provide comprehensive support to the Toronto Funding Liquidity Management Trading desk, including deal capture, reporting, analysis, and activities related to Canadian monetary policy.

Stakeholder Management - Maintain strong working relationships with CIBC’s correspondent banks globally, ensuring efficient and timely account information flow—critical for making time-sensitive funding decisions that may impact interest costs or pose reputational risk to CIBC. Assist in the forecasting, monitoring, and funding of the USD IMM Canada book and USD nostro correspondents, and contribute to detailed funding, variance, and liquidity reporting. Support all TCIM and CAD FLM Trading desks, acting in a swing capacity and serving as backup to traders as required, with a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the business. Participate in the management, monitoring, and reporting of intraday liquidity, and support senior TCIM staff in developing and executing intraday liquidity reporting mechanics to meet regulatory requirements. Actively participate in industry committee work (CLS, TMX, Payments Canada), supporting senior TCIM committee members.

Daily Tasks - Execute daily funding tickets and provide timely reporting to Risk Management on deposit excesses. Analyze daily currency sources and uses of funds to deliver a complete currency position profile to management. Manage cash flows against main funding accounts within various currencies and coordinate end-of-day positions with relevant FLM Trading desks to ensure cost-effective funding of residual balances. Manage intraday liquidity for global settlements and maintain reporting to satisfy regulatory requirements.
